County Cycles is extremely proud to announce our partnership with Giant bicycles. They are a global company founded in 1972.
I am particularly excited to be associated with a company that is both a manufacturer and an engineering group. Yes, Giant actually makes its own bikes. Not many major companies can say that. They also manufacture bicycles for many other brands that you know.
Giant started at the forefront of aluminum frame technology. They have progressed, innovated and improved this technology. Their current state of the art aluminum frames are very light, efficient and have regained a lot of the lively feel which was missing from aluminum frames in the past.
In the 1980’s, Giant were the first to manufacture an affordable composite frame. They continue to improve and innovate with this frame material, often referred to as carbon fiber. Today’s composite frames are lighter, faster and more comfortable than ever.
One technology that I am especially excited about is called D-fuse. This is a special layup of the fibers in the frame and seatpost that allows a small amount of movement fore and aft while maintaining left to right stiffness. This provides comfort at the seat without robbing any energy.
In 2011 Giant launched the Liv brand. Liv is all about bicycles for women and is run by an all-female staff. These are not pink versions of Giants. Of course they share technology across both brands, but Liv bikes and accessories are designed specifically for women by women.
Please come in soon to see and test ride the Giant and Liv two wheel pedaling experience.
